Getting The Kinks Out: Self-Massage and Stretching Class
In this one and a quarter hour class we explore basic anatomy of the Human Body in relation to Trigger Points and their common Pain Referral Pathways. For example, if your back is hurting it may be coming from your neck! The focus of the class will be on "What We Can Do For Ourselves". We will experience simple ways to do Self-Massage using easily accessible and inexpensive tools . You will also learn some simple Stretching Techniques that will target the areas of tension.
You Need to Bring to Class: Yoga mat and/or blanket Comfortable clothing suitable for being on the floor and stretching Water bottle

If you would like individualized coaching Juana offers specialized sessions that target your special needs. You will discussed your concerns and challenges regarding your Ergonomics (body posture) during work, driving in your car, sleeping position, and during play. Juana will explain why certain areas may be hurting and offer suggestions to: 1) correct your Ergonomics, 2)Self-Massage and Targeted Stretching options and 3)Simple Conditioning Exercises to help maintain good body posture and Pain-Free Living.

I loved the discussion we had in class. I thought the guest speaker knew so much information and I could tell she really loves what she is doing and enjoys sharing information with others. The videos we watched were very informative and entertaining. I want to watch them all! The class discussion was really good as well and it seemed like everyone wanted to be involved. She seemed very comfortable speaking up there and I can't wait for her to come back and tell us about massage therapy!
I really enjoyed the class discussion on nutrition. I feel that I got a more objective viewpoint on nutrition from the speaker. She debunked some assumptions that I had about health and nutrition that I had, such as the idea that eating several smaller meals a day is healthier or that cutting calories is the best way to be healthy. I could tell that many other people in the class were very interested in nutrition as well, because we kept the speaker well past her scheduled time.
The discussion on nutrition today really opened my eyes to what is harming our body and what foods we initially thought were bad for us but really are some of the healthiest. As soon as i got home after this discussion i made immediate changes to my diet and tried to eat more fruits and vegetables with every meal. I never realized how drastically nutrition can affect your body and how you can gain certain results by eating certain foods. I though to be healthy i had to go vegan but the discussion made me realize that as long as you eat certain things in moderation you will be fine.
